What is a root server?
A root server is a server where you have full administrative access (root access). You receive clearly defined resources that are available to your server. What can I do with a root server?

What is the difference between a dedicated server, a root server and a VPS?

Where is the location of my root server?
At netcup, we offer you Vienna, Nuremberg or Manassas (USA) as the location for your root server. You can select the location when purchasing your server. The designation 'VIE', 'NUE' or 'MNZ' means that the physical location of the server is in the data center in Vienna (Wien), Nuremberg (Nürnberg) or Manassas (Manassas). The selection 'no preference Europe' means that the root server is hosted in Vienna or Nuremberg, depending on available capacity.
